My Cousin's extravagant and intimate Wedding!

I woke up today feeling really excited about my cousin's wedding. It has been meticulously planned for and in the making for three years, and for the day to finally arrive, I'm sure everyone attending the wedding is feeling some sort of giddy excitement and anticipation. But suffice it to say, I’m sure the Bride and Groom would be experiencing indescribable myriad of feelings today, bringing back fond memories of how I felt on my own wedding day.*grin*

So, I started the morning getting to the hairdresser to emulate my chosen Katy Perry's 51st Grammy Awards hairstyle and I was thrilled she managed to pull it off to as close as it can be done, with some minor changes and without complaints from my end – considering Katy Perry’s hairstyle was done by a hairdresser who I simply could not afford! After that, went home, got dressed and nervously tried my hand at putting makeup on my face, and for those who know me well, I cannot stand to put makeup on, apart from the occasional lipstick or lip gloss, unless I really have to! So with more luck than skill, I managed to put the makeup on and just hoped for the best that I did not look like a clown!

We then arrived outside the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel and I was quite eager to see it up close ever since it became reputably known as “the church Nicole Kidman got married at. So I was not disappointed that it was indeed a magnificent church worthy of a famous actress’ choice! It was beautiful inside as it was grand outside.

We then got ushered inside and with bated breath, waited for the moment the Bride would enter and walk down the aisle to be forever joined in holy matrimony to her beloved Groom! Then all was quiet and the priest requested us all to stand, and with the wedding march sounding off in the background....in walks the Bride in the arms of her brother, looking breathlessly stunning in a Steven Khalil haute couture wedding gown. As she walked downed the aisle, I knew for sure that my dearly departed Grandparents and my cousin’s Stepfather were proudly smiling down upon her as she made her way to her loving Groom. I’m sure too, that at this moment in time, my cousin’s Mum (my aunt) was so proud to see her only daughter walking down that aisle as she tried to hold back tears of joy and undeniable happiness – unsuccessfully! *grin*

Usually all eyes would be on the Bride as she made her way down the aisle, but I stole a glance at the Groom, and to see the love of his life approaching him, I saw him basically “knock-off his feet” by the testament of the look and expressions in his face. Right there and then, there are just not enough words to express or explain how much he truly adored and loved his Bride as she walked down that aisle towards him. *aww..*sigh*

Then the ceremony began, and it was as special and solemn as any matrimonial ceremony can be. I was also sincerely thrilled and honoured that my cousin selected me as one of the readers and I am grateful that I got to be a part of their wedding ceremony. Then the Bride and Groom exchanged their vows and rings, and soon after, to the jubilant applause of the couples’ dearest families, relatives and friends, they were finally announced as Husband and Wife! We then clapped and cheered even harder when they shared their first kiss, sealing their loving bond forever, as Mr. & Mrs. W...! *grin*

Once the ceremony was over, everybody made their way outside where the couple waited to receive warm and delighted congratulations from their families, relatives and friends. Various group photos were then taken alongside the newly wedded couple before the entire bridal party was ushered by the photographer for the usual photos needed for the wedding album. Then we all went our separate ways and would gather again at the reception which was scheduled in the evening.

The reception was held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts (M.C.A.), and I could not wait to get there. But having lunch first and the horrendous traffic on the way, it was a shame that the exhibits were already closed by the time we got there, as I would have loved to have seen some of them. However, all was not lost as we were treated to the sight of a magnificent cruise liner called Sapphire Princess which was docked at Circular Quay waiting to depart that night.

We then made our way up to the M.C.A. top floor function room, and the set up was simply gorgeous and quite intimate. There was a live band playing and we noticed that guests were to be seated at tables which had countries on them as oppose to numbers. The countries represented the places that the wedded couple have been to and held fond and special memories for them. Then I saw the wedding cake displayed on one side, and the only way I could describe it – elegant simplicity!

We then made our way to the bar where non-alcoholic beverages were served as well as champagne, red and white wine, beer, and a cocktail mix of either a traditional mojito or a passionfruit punch mojito – which were absolutely delicious! Request for different cocktail mixes were served if available. After making our way to our ITALY table, we then went outside were the view was simply amazing! Overlooking the harbour was the view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, with the added bonus of the cruise liner, Sapphire Princess.

Delicious canapƩs were served to the guests, as we all mingled, introduced ourselves and got to know a little about each other, while we waited for the wedded couple to arrive. Then in walked the Bride and Groom to the warm applause of their guests, were hugs and kisses were exchanged, and happy snaps were taken at every opportunity with the couple, before we were all ushered inside so the evening festivities could begin.

Once everyone was seated, the Master of Ceremonies (M.C.) began by welcoming everyone to the reception and soon after, the Bridal party was introduced, making their way to the Bridal table, with everyone then upstanding and clapping as the Bride & Groom entered officially as Mr. & Mrs. W...!

The night progressed with the serving of delicious, fine dining, and might I add – “to die for”, three course meal. Compliments to the chef, everything I had was absolutely delicious, especially the Duck Confit for EntreĆ© and the Dessert.

In between one of the courses, we were even treated to some fireworks, courtesy of the cruise liner, Sapphire Princess waiting to sail out of Sydney Harbour.

Speeches were also said sporadically in between the meal courses, by the father & stepfather of the Groom; from the brother of the Bride; the Best Man; the Groom; and finally the Bride.

Of all the speeches, the Groom’s speech was the one that stood out in my mind the most, as he made us all laugh with anecdotes of how he and his Bride met and how they eventually fell in love. But he also made some of us shed some tears, including me, as he struggled to hold back his own tears when he talked about his Mother-in-law, of her hardships in life, and thanked her from the bottom of his heart, for giving him the greatest compliment when she gave him her blessing to marry her daughter, and that he gives her his word that he will provide for her daughter, love and cherish her, and give her all the affection he has and can possibly give. He knows how proud she is today and compliments her by saying how amazing she looks.*aww..*sigh*

But what struck me was when he mentioned my departed grandparents (Lolo & Lola), and of how they played such an important role in my cousin’s life while she was growing up, and that if she had one wish right now, it would be that they were there with her – (me too, with all my heart). I could not hold back my tears anymore as his voice shook, fighting to control and hold back his own tears, but he gathered himself and continued on by emphasising to everyone in the room, the qualities he sees in his Bride which are the epitome of Lolo & Lola, and thanks them for giving him the rest of his life with her. *sniff* (Lolo & Lola, may you rest in peace).

The Groom continued on with his speech, thanking his groomsmen and best man, parents and family members, relatives, friends near & far, and not forgetting, the lovely couple, who, because of their love, guidance, support and mentoring, they have helped him and his Bride, be who they are today and can be in life.

After the Groom finished with his speech, the Bride followed it up by saying a few words of thanks to the ladies who’ve helped her in planning and making her wedding possible – to her bridesmaids, girlfriends, readers and usher. Most importantly, she thanked her Mum for everything and hopes to be half the woman she is. She also thanked all the mothers present and the ones in heaven, and with glasses raised higher by the women - mothers and daughters, proceeded to dedicated a toast to all mothers.*cheers!*

After all the speeches were said and done, the Bride and Groom were then called to the dance floor for their Bridal Waltz. After that, the Bridal party joined them on the dance floor and shortly thereafter, all the guests were invited to join in the fun! Those who had “left-feet” and not fond of dancing, decided to go out into the balcony to take in the view of the city by night, and to see and farewell the Sapphire Princess, as it left the dock of Circular Quay to sail on into the night.

As the night progressed, the wedding cake was cut, and a piece of cake was presented to all the guests as a bonbonniere to take home. Tea and coffee was served for anyone who wanted it, or to accompany the wedding cake if they wanted to eat it. I ate mine and it was simply delicious, especially with a nice cup of tea!

More dancing continued on the dance floor, but as the night worn on, the band finished up, and soon the Bride was tossing her bouquet to the single ladies on the dance floor and the Groom was flipping the Bride’s garter to all the bachelors in the room. Then sadly, it was time to go and say goodbye to the newly wedded couple.

My cousin’s wedding was simply one of the best weddings I’ve been to, and it was definitely intimate, but an extravagant wedding none the less! Three years in the making and over and done with in just a little over 12hrs! But like all weddings, every guests goes away with special fond and lasting memories of the day.

My best and fondest wish to the happy couple, for a blessed and blissful marriage. May you both hold each other in your hearts, and love and cherish each other through the best of times and through the hardship of life, as you both go on the journey of married life together. All the best for a loving and happy future! xx

My Cousin's Exquisite Bridal Kitchen Tea Party!

I've never been to a Kitchen Tea Party before, so I was very excited that my cousin decided to have one which was generously hosted by a lovely couple and held at their property in Lugarno.

The Bridal Kitchen Tea Party gave those who were unable to attend my cousin's Bridal Bachelorette Party the opportunity to catch up with the bride-to-be and to get to know her other friends, and of course experience a day unlike anything they've experienced before, well, at least in my case, I've never experienced before. *grin*

As excited as I am, and how I imagined and expected this party to be, when my Mum and I finally arrived, I was not disappointed. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess, I knew I was going to enjoy myself immensely! She was so lovely and hospitable, and her home was amazing and absolutely beautiful! Her husband was very funny and made us feel right at home. So coming down the stairs to the entertainment area, I was speechless and WOWed at how beautiful the place was presented and decorated. There were scented candles everywhere and the flower arrangements and decorations were gorgeous! And, OMG! The bar was absolutely incredible! There was even a barman ready to pour your preferred alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.

Also, spread about all over the place were these little menu-like cards that told us what was available To Drink and what was on the menu To Eat. After reading the To Eat section, I was practically salivating! *grin* Everything on it was so appetising! I could not wait to taste and sample each and every one of the delectable delicacies that were on offer!

Then the hostess showed us this amazing and beautiful cake she had ordered for the bride-to-be, and OMG! it was gorgeous! It was in the shape of a black and white hat box with very famous brands depicted on the outside, from Prada, Christian Dior to Hermes, Gucci and Louis Vuitton as icing! I could not wait to taste it, but it was too beautiful to cut into it!

Then the hostess urged us to order our drinks at the bar, and though I was extremely tempted to have an alcoholic drink, I was a designated driver, so I opted out for a non-alcoholic beverage while my Mum went for the delicious (I had a sip) cocktail mix called Bernie's Blushing Bridal Cosmopolitan - perfect for the occasion! Then we moved into the balcony overlooking the pool and the view of the park and at this moment the honoured guest, my cousin, the bride-to-be, arrived and she looked utterly gorgeous and stunning in a simple but very stylish and sexy dress! Kisses and hugs were exchanged and shortly thereafter more guests started to come down the stairs to join in the fun and introductions and getting to know each other.

Apart from the people I already knew at the party, I felt a little apprehensive at first approaching those I did not know, as I'm a shy person by nature, but I found my cousin's friends to be down-to-earth and very nice people, and I was glad I had a chance to know them a little since they were my cousin's closest and dearest friends.

Then the waitress began circulating the food, and OMG! it was soooo delicious! From the Pacific oysters, to the succulent prawns, and scallops, to the Peking duck and lamb skewers, right down to the desserts consisting of lemon and lime tartlets, chocolate tarts and raspberry creme brulees, I was in food heaven! Everything was divine! Even though the serving was finger sized, the food kept coming, just as the champagne, wine and cocktails were bottomless! It was perfect!

To make the day even more eventful and fun, there was a raffle door prize given to the winner of the raffle ticket picked from a bowl by my cousin. Guessing games were also played in which the prizes were the correctly guessed bottle of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, as well as another bottle of Almond chocolates and books going to those who correctly guessed the number of the chocolates in each bottles. I wanted one of those bottles, but meh, I didn't guessed correctly.

Then my cousin opened up her gifts which consisted of various kitchen ware items, and every one of us were wondering bemusedly when she will be using these items and inviting us all for tea! LOL! :D

After that, speeches were said by the hostess and my cousin, which was then followed by reluctantly cutting that gorgeous cake. The cake tasted just as divine and delicious and served with luscious smelling tea or coffee, it was a perfect way to end the day!

This Kitchen Tea Party was not at all as I had imagined it to be, but it surely exceeded my expectations more than I expected! This has been one of the best experiences I've had and I cannot wait for my cousin's grand and extravagant wedding this weekend!

I'm ecstatic! "Love Never Dies" in Melbourne, May 2011!

I cannot even begin to express the myriad of feelings I am experiencing right now! All I want to do is squeal and scream at the top of my lungs! I am so giddy with anticipation! I don't even care that Love Never Dies is opening in Melbourne and that I have to travel from Sydney, because nothing can stop me from watching the much anticipated sequel to my all time favourite musical, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera

I have thus far, prevented myself from listening to the cast recording of Love Never Dies because I want so much to experience the musical first-hand, from the dialogue to the musical score and lyrics, but the temptation is so high right now I may just cave in and have the musical blare out of my stereo!

Thank you so much Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber for choosing Melbourne, Australia as the 2nd location to premiere this greatly anticipated sequel!

May 2011, Melbourne.....here I come! Woohoo!

Love Never Dies will have its Australian premiere in Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in May 2011.

Love Never Dies will have its Australian premiere in Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in May 2011.

LOVE NEVER DIES, the continuing story of The Phantom of the Opera, will have its Australian premiere in Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in May 2011, Andrew Lloyd Webber announced in London.
Speaking by satellite from London to media at the Queen’s Hall in Victoria’s Parliament House, he said the production would also have its own, unique, Australian stamp. Produced by Lloyd Webber’s Asia Pacific representative Tim McFarlane, it will be directed by Melbourne’s Simon Phillips and have a new design by Sydney based Gabriela Tylesova.

Nationwide auditions will begin in a fortnight – on Monday October 25, the same day tickets go on sale. Waitlisting has begun through Ticketmaster, and people can join the production’s email registration list at loveneverdies.com.au.

The Phantom of the Opera is one of the most popular theatre productions of all time and we are delighted that Andrew Lloyd Webber has chosen Melbourne to be the second city in the world to stage the continuing story, LOVE NEVER DIES,” Minister for the Arts Tim Holding, speaking at today’s media conference, said.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said the Australian production would be only the second in the world. The composer of The Phantom of the Opera said, ‘I have a great affiliation with Australia. My musicals have always done exceptionally well there. I have worked internationally with many of Australia’s finest theatrical talent.’

Tim McFarlane, Producer, The Really Useful Company Asia Pacific, said The Phantom of the Opera had been seen in 149 cities around the world and taken more than $5 billion at the box office – more than the combined box office takings of the two top grossing films of all time, Avatar and Titanic.

The Phantom of the Opera is the most successful single entertainment of all time,’ he said. ‘Over two tours of Australia and New Zealand, in 1990 -1998 and 2007-2009, it has been enjoyed by more than five million people. Those who saw Phantom and loved the show will be excited to see how the story continues and all those who appreciate music theatre will be thrilled by LOVE NEVER DIES.’

The musical, the most awaited in decades, had its premiere in London’s Adelphi Theatre on March 9 this year. The Independent called it ‘Phabulous!’ The Express said, ‘The allure of the Phantom never dies,’ the Telegraph called it ‘Lloyd Webber’s finest show since the original Phantom,’ and the Times, ‘Andrew Lloyd Webber at his musical best.’

Mr Holding said that theatre was a key part of Melbourne’s major events calendar. “Over the last four years, blockbuster theatre shows such as Wicked, Jersey Boys and currently, Mary Poppins have drawn hundreds of thousands of interstate and overseas visitors to Melbourne ensuring that our hotels, restaurants and famous retail precincts are busy throughout the year,” Mr Holding said.

“Following the success of Wicked, Jersey Boys and Mary Poppins, securing the Australian premiere of LOVE NEVER DIES strengthens Melbourne’s position as the theatre capital of Australia”.

Simon Phillips, Director of LOVE NEVER DIES says:

“It’s an honour to be working on an Australian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s dazzling new work. The score of LOVE NEVER DIES is truly ravishing, loaded with big lyrical ballads and some taut and unforgettably hummable ensembles.

“One of the early highlights in my directing career was a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, but in the current climate of single versions of musicals playing forever I never thought I’d have the pleasure of directing a new work by the undisputed master of contemporary musical theatre.

“So I’m delighted that Andrew Lloyd Webber has chosen an Australian team to work on his inspired new structural changes, which promise to further intensify the thrills and spills of the story as told in London.
“I’ve already begun developing a design with Gabriela Tylesova, hoping to do with the razzamatazz of Coney Island what Maria Bjornson’s iconic Phantom designs did with the opulence of the Paris Opera, and I can’t wait to start the search for the formidable talents required to do justice to the score!”

LOVE NEVER DIES ’ premiere in London on March 9 coincided with the Australian release of Universal Music’s double CD Album, recorded at Abbey Road Studios with some of the London cast and more than 100 musicians.

George Ash, resident Australasia of Universal Music Australia, said, “Andrew Lloyd Webber’s success in Australia is beyond comparison. He has sold more cast recordings than any other composer in history and for us to be a partner in the launch of LOVE NEVER DIES to Australian audiences is an absolute honour.”

Liu Wei from China's Got Talent 2010 - Inspirational!

I stumbled upon this on YouTube and I was just amazed! Not only was I blown away, I was also truly inspired. I'm still shaking my head at how well he plays the piano....with his FEET

Playing the piano is hard enough for most people with hands, but to play it so well after only several years with his feet is absolutely AMAZING!

Liu Wei is 23 years old who lost his arms in an electrocution while playing hide and seek as a kid and he performed in China's Got Talent 2010. In my book, even if he doesn't win it, he's already a winner to me! Well done Liu Wei! You are truly an inspiration!

Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead - and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

What an awesome movie! As a fan of Resident Evil, its games and the whole storyline, this is by far one of the best out of the Resident Evil franchise of movies that have been released.

OMG! Just the first 5 minutes of it will have you hooked! I absolutely love the fact that it has my favourite characters into the one movie. There's Alice of course played by the gorgeous and sexy Milla Jovovich. Then I was literally bowled over to see Albert Wesker(!) in the flesh, instead of a hologram from the previous movie Resident Evil: Extinction portrayed by Jason O'Mara! In the flesh, he appears for the first time in the Resident Evil franchise of movies and he's portrayed by Shawn Roberts and he played the character well enough in my book. He's not in it much, but for the parts that he was, I was just happy to see him finally have a more active role in a Resident Evil movie! Then there's the return of Claire Redfield portrayed by Ali Larter best known for her appearance on the series Heroes. Finally there is Chris Redfield! He is portrayed by the gorgeous Wentworth Miller best known for his role as Michael Scofield from Prison Break. I have spent so much time playing the PS3 Resident Evil 5 game, and to finally see Chris in the flesh in one of the Resident Evil movies, I was practically squealing! Plus, Wentworth is so eye candy! Jill Valentine appears briefly in the end, and with that, all I can say is I can't wait for the next installment where I'm sure she'll have a bigger role to play! And don't discount Wesker! He's not an easy character to get rid of or kill! Hopefully a continuation is made to follow on from this movie.

On top of the obvious and main characters that many people know from the Resident Evil games, there's the obvious characters that are constant in the movie and that's the people eating undead Zombies. But I was also pleasantly surprised and chuffed to see the giant axe/anvil wielding Majini and the infected split faced dogs from the game Resident Evil 5. Not to mention an awesome brilliant scene where we finally get to see Wesker reveal his evil red eyes followed by throwing his sunglasses at Chris Redfield and....well, I will leave it to you to go watch the movie and see this scene for yourself! I was literally whooping and chuffed, laughing out loud at how it was done! Fantastic, this scene and it is in my book the showstopper, scene stealing part of the entire movie!

Once you see this movie, especially in 3D, you will not be disappointed, especially if you're a fan of the Resident Evil saga and of the Resident Evil 5 game, as you will notice that parts of this game have been incorporated into the movie. In my book, my verdict is 9/10 only because I am a huge fan of R.E.5!

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - "sickeningly" addictive!....

....and in my case, I mean this literally!!! So let me explain.....
After playing this addictive game, I can understand why it has gone contagiously global! I know I'm a lot late in playing this game, but I never really planned to play it or let alone buy it, because I have an aversion to playing as a 1st person shooter. I get nauseating motion sickness which always leads to me running for the nearest toilet bowl or whatever will hold the contents of my stomach!

However, with the generosity of a company called Contagious Network, I was sent this game to try it out. Unfortunately, after playing this game for the first time for only a mere 10mins+, I had to quit it and ran for the toilet to empty my stomach of what was a delicious lunch! I feel so ashamed!!!!

Since I couldn't play it, I watch my husband and my younger brother (who by the way is highly addicted and would always be on MW2 if he could), to review it for what I saw and thought of this game and what I thought it was all about, not to mention why it was generating so much fuss and discussion every time someone mentions the game. Mind you, I had to take constant breaks from watching the TV screen to stop me from emptying my stomach over and over again! For shame, yet again! But, I did manage to see and garner why over a million gamers and counting, have been addicted to this game and will no doubt flock and queue for the next installment in the Call of Duty series, Call Of Duty: Black Ops due for release on November 9th, 2010.

It is highly addictive once you begin, whether you play the Single Player Campaign mode; Cooperative Multiplayer Spec Ops mode; or the highly fueled, adrenalin pumping, Online Multiplayer mode; this game will never fail in keeping you glued to your butt to whatever you're sitting on! It has awesome graphics, making you believe that you are there on location fighting side by side with your troops. What you see is so vivid and realistic and topped that with the blaring sound coming out full blast from your speakers, it's no wonder so many lose themselves into this game, and no doubt many a sleepless nights!

Unfortunately, I did not see much of this game as I'd liked, but from the constant discussions I hear from those around me, who have this game and will continually play it, I am saddened to know now I am missing a lot in not playing this much loved and addictive game.

If there is a cure for the nauseating, motion sickness, puke induced caused by playing as a 1st person shooter, please let me know, because I am extremely jealous that I am unable to play and participate in the phenomenon that is Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!

Doctor Who 2005 ended in a Big Bang!!

Season 5 of Doctor Who ended spectacularly in "The Big Bang"!

I have to give full credit to the actors, especially Matt Smith's acting abilities, for pulling off the 2 part season finale episodes, "The Pandorica Opens" and "The Big Bang" brilliantly. Matt Smith has surely put my fears to rest in dreading I may not warm up to him as the new Doctor, after having David Tennant playing an awesome, and by far my favourite Doctor, for the last 5 years. (Special Episodes included)

Matt Smith's portrayal is very different from that of David Tennant and he has many endearing and funny qualities I like unique to his own interpretation of what and who the Doctor is. I see him as more loony and crazy than what I've previously seen in the Doctor, both in his personality and actions, that I'm finding it sometimes hard to believe that he's the Doctor who instills in you, if you threaten those around him, to just run away or you're sure to meet your doom. I rarely saw him as a serious, fearful and ruthless adversary, perhaps because of his boyish and youngish features, and maybe it is just me, but he failed to exude that fearsome ruthlessness about him. My husband even thinks and sees him as more "alien looking" in his features and actions, that he sure qualifies him as an alien rather than human in species and personality. I think he's just being mean, but he says he's not and there's no offense meant against Matt Smith and his looks!

On an added note: does anyone else notice that the Doctor seem to get younger in appearance every time he regenerates? Eccleston -> Tennant -> Smith. I'm not sure about the "classic" Doctors who've regenerated previously because I've not seen those series.

As for the new companion Amy Pond played by Karen Gillan, I instantly liked her after her introduction in the first episode called "The Eleveth Hour". I love her personality and accent! I also like her boyfriend, Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) who's a lovable and caring, protect your friends till the end character. I'm glad he was also brought back after "Cold Blood" because I actually missed him not being part of Amy's life. The additional appearance of River Song (Alex Kingston) was also what kept me glued throughout the season, as I initially wanted to know more about her relationship with the Doctor when her character was introduced in season 4, "Forest of the Dead". Here's hoping we'll know more in season 6, about her and her involvement/relationship with the Doctor, as she herself has been alluding, as I hate having to hear the word "spoilers" from her! My curiosity in not knowing is driving me insane!

As good as this last episode of season 5, "The Big Bang" was, mind you, I had to re-watch it more than once to get my brain around the "wibbly wobbly timey wimey" time traveling stuff! That kinda had my head spinning and had to backtrack a few times to get the story rolling along properly in my head! Through it all, I liked how there wasn't any of the "cheesy" stuff that Russell T. Davies usually writes in (though some are bearable, some likable and funny, but some leaving you asking "WHY"?), the new lead writer Steven Moffat kept the whole storyline execution realistic for me. In fact, I applaud the writers of season 5 for the storyline and plots they produced, which I really enjoyed because I found there was true quality, believability and realness to them, especially that of the episode with the famous painter, Vincent Van Gogh called "Vincent and the Doctor".

So great job to the cast and crew for bringing the fans a brilliant and "new spanking" Doctor Who in season 5 and ending it so spectacularly! Here's to an awesome season 6, and I'm so looking forward to it! Cannot wait what the new Doctor Who will bring us for the Christmas Special!

GROWN UPS is sides splittingly hilarious!

Grown Ups, starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, is a comedy about five friends and former teammates who reunite years later to honor the passing of their childhood basketball coach. With their wives (Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph) and kids in tow, they spend the Fourth of July holiday weekend together at the lake house where they celebrated their championship years earlier. Picking up where they left off, they discover why growing older doesn’t mean growing up. --© Sony

Saw this movie last night and I was hilariously surprised! I thought it was going to be another "blokey" movie that I would not relate to, but I found it genuinely realistic in its storyline and plot, that what actually happens in the movie can and would happen in real life situations.

It was side-splitting, "pee in your pants" funny! The lines and bantering among the guys in the movie are absolutely hilarious! Far from what I expected, I also found it heart warming and would recommend it as a family movie as well.

Guys would love this movie as it is, in my opinion, "Sex in the City" for blokes. Ladies who have kids and married to husbands who still hang out with their childhood/college buddies reliving and reminiscing their bachelor days, would relate and understand completely what this movie is all about.

So go and see the movie! I guarantee you won't be disappointed, because I can assure you, you will not leave the cinema finding at least one part of the movie hilarious!

World Cup 2010 - Go Socceroos!!!

Australia's soccer team, the Socceroos, may not be the best against the better teams in the world of soccer, but they sure do give it a good go at it.

Sure we lost miserably against Germany for our first game and had Tim Cahill red carded, which was harsh in my opinion, but we sure made up for it during our second game against Ghana even if it cost us Harry Kewell (red card - and again, a harsh call) and the match ended in a draw.

The Socceroos may not want to whinge about their misfortunes, but I will gladly whinge on their behalf! It just feels like the officials/referees are not giving our team a fair go! My opinion and I'm sticking to it!

I may not be a hardcore fan of soccer or the World Cup, for that matter, but I am patriotic and will support my country until they are eliminated, and will applaud their efforts in making it to the World Cup 2010.

So, GO THE SOCCEROOS! Win one for us against Serbia! I don't care if Germany loses or Ghana is served a thrashing, as long as we're still in the World Cup (or not), I'll continue cheering, Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

EDIT: So proud of the Socceroos! Well done on the win against Serbia! Brilliant effort! We may have bowed out of the Wold Cup, but the Socceroos have restored our national pride, and holding their heads held high and leaving the World Cup as WINNERS!

Charice on Glee!!! Woooot!!

The current Filipina sensation, the little pocket rocket singer - Charice, will be on Glee! In the upcoming season 2 of the show, she will be casted as a “foreign exchange student whose killer vocals get Rachel (Lea Michele) contemplating murder.”

I myself am not ashamed to say already that I'm a Gleek, but with Charice coming on, I cannot wait to see season 2 of Glee and it's still such a long wait!

I'm so proud of Charice and how far she's come in such a short time. Her current self titled album, CHARICE is simply amazing and I can listen to it over and over again for hours! The CD itself is not available yet in Australia, but you can buy it and download it from iTunes, Amazon, or the Charice Store now!

Her current single "Pyramid" featuring Iyaz, has already hit number #1 in the Billboard Dance list. She has many more wonderful songs in her album, which I dare say, will make great singles and have the potential to be number #1 hits as well.

My current food addiction - Cheese & Bacon Souffle!

So I'm going through a souffle phase at the moment. My current addiction is Cheese & Bacon souffle which I'm proud to say I've managed to pull off every time and dish out puffed up delicious souffles. I can't get enough of it and I'm trying out other souffles, but this is the easiest, quickest and yummiest one by far, to cook.

I've also tried to pull off a Chocolate souffle, which my boys absolutely loved, and it was very delicious, but rather rich in, well, chocolate! It was so yummy to eat, but it does leave you feeling a little sick after! But it was very hard to put down!

In the meantime, I'm just happy to settle for a simple cheese & bacon souffle to satisfy my craving and currently, food addiction!

R.L. = M.I.A. in V.R.

Ok, to translate...Real Life means Missing In Action in Virtual Reality....well, mostly in my own current circumstances.

I do find snippets of time posting on my Twitter account and viewing my Facebook profile to catch up with family relatives and friends who I don't regularly see personally or who live overseas, but usually that's it. I have 3 boys (4 including my hubby ;D) to look after, not to mention the household as well, so it's a busy life I lead. But no complaints, I love my job as a Domestic Engineer! Nothing can be more rewarding!

But I do try to find time to post and write down my ramblings now and then, if not here, on my other more private journal/blog for my own personal amusements and just to ramble and rant away my stresses away, which we all encounter on a daily basis.

So I'm still around, but I just wish I can find more time to play and spend more of what little time I can spare in the virtual world of cyberspace. But I will be making more of an effort to ramble on when I can. :)

Allons-Y! What a fantastic 5 years we've had Doctor!

First of......I WILL MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY DAVID TENNANT!!!! *hugs you tight!*

I wish David Tennant all the best on his future endeavours, but he will forever be my DOCTOR!

Back to "The End of Time" (Parts I & II) - I loved it! It was so sad and bittersweet. I'm not ashamed to say it, I cried buckets of tears! Mostly because I didn't really want David Tennant to go and it was heart wrenching that he didn't want to either. Whether he was speaking as The Doctor or as himself, he had me tearing/crying up like a lovesick idiot!

All in all, it was a really nice, decent, and respectful episode to send David Tennant off to more greener pastures. Here's hoping that Matt Smith as the new Doctor will do justice to the role that David Tennant has left behind. Hopefully Matt won't imitate too much of David's characteristic and personality he put into playing the Doctor cause that will just annoy me and will most likely put me off - and God forbid, I do so love watching Doctor Who! Here's hoping I can pass an unbiased judgment after several episodes and not compare Matt's portrayal of The Doctor to David's too much, because 5 years of David as The Doctor was absolutely BRILLIANT!
