Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead - and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

What an awesome movie! As a fan of Resident Evil, its games and the whole storyline, this is by far one of the best out of the Resident Evil franchise of movies that have been released.

OMG! Just the first 5 minutes of it will have you hooked! I absolutely love the fact that it has my favourite characters into the one movie. There's Alice of course played by the gorgeous and sexy Milla Jovovich. Then I was literally bowled over to see Albert Wesker(!) in the flesh, instead of a hologram from the previous movie Resident Evil: Extinction portrayed by Jason O'Mara! In the flesh, he appears for the first time in the Resident Evil franchise of movies and he's portrayed by Shawn Roberts and he played the character well enough in my book. He's not in it much, but for the parts that he was, I was just happy to see him finally have a more active role in a Resident Evil movie! Then there's the return of Claire Redfield portrayed by Ali Larter best known for her appearance on the series Heroes. Finally there is Chris Redfield! He is portrayed by the gorgeous Wentworth Miller best known for his role as Michael Scofield from Prison Break. I have spent so much time playing the PS3 Resident Evil 5 game, and to finally see Chris in the flesh in one of the Resident Evil movies, I was practically squealing! Plus, Wentworth is so eye candy! Jill Valentine appears briefly in the end, and with that, all I can say is I can't wait for the next installment where I'm sure she'll have a bigger role to play! And don't discount Wesker! He's not an easy character to get rid of or kill! Hopefully a continuation is made to follow on from this movie.

On top of the obvious and main characters that many people know from the Resident Evil games, there's the obvious characters that are constant in the movie and that's the people eating undead Zombies. But I was also pleasantly surprised and chuffed to see the giant axe/anvil wielding Majini and the infected split faced dogs from the game Resident Evil 5. Not to mention an awesome brilliant scene where we finally get to see Wesker reveal his evil red eyes followed by throwing his sunglasses at Chris Redfield and....well, I will leave it to you to go watch the movie and see this scene for yourself! I was literally whooping and chuffed, laughing out loud at how it was done! Fantastic, this scene and it is in my book the showstopper, scene stealing part of the entire movie!

Once you see this movie, especially in 3D, you will not be disappointed, especially if you're a fan of the Resident Evil saga and of the Resident Evil 5 game, as you will notice that parts of this game have been incorporated into the movie. In my book, my verdict is 9/10 only because I am a huge fan of R.E.5!
