I cannot even begin to express the myriad of feelings I am experiencing right now! All I want to do is squeal and scream at the top of my lungs! I am so giddy with anticipation! I don't even care that Love Never Dies is opening in Melbourne and that I have to travel from Sydney, because nothing can stop me from watching the much anticipated sequel to my all time favourite musical, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera!
I have thus far, prevented myself from listening to the cast recording of Love Never Dies because I want so much to experience the musical first-hand, from the dialogue to the musical score and lyrics, but the temptation is so high right now I may just cave in and have the musical blare out of my stereo!
Thank you so much Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber for choosing Melbourne, Australia as the 2nd location to premiere this greatly anticipated sequel!

LOVE NEVER DIES, the continuing story of
The Phantom of the Opera, will have its Australian premiere in Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in May 2011, Andrew Lloyd Webber announced in London.
Speaking by satellite from London to media at the Queen’s Hall in Victoria’s Parliament House, he said the production would also have its own, unique, Australian stamp. Produced by Lloyd Webber’s Asia Pacific representative Tim McFarlane, it will be directed by Melbourne’s Simon Phillips and have a new design by Sydney based Gabriela Tylesova.
Nationwide auditions will begin in a fortnight – on Monday October 25, the same day tickets go on sale. Waitlisting has begun through Ticketmaster, and people can join the production’s email registration list at

The musical, the most awaited in decades, had its premiere in London’s Adelphi Theatre on March 9 this year. The Independent called it ‘Phabulous!’ The Express said, ‘The allure of the Phantom never dies,’ the Telegraph called it ‘Lloyd Webber’s finest show since the original Phantom,’ and the Times, ‘Andrew Lloyd Webber at his musical best.’
Mr Holding said that theatre was a key part of Melbourne’s major events calendar. “Over the last four years, blockbuster theatre shows such as

Jersey Boys and currently,
Mary Poppins have drawn hundreds of thousands of interstate and overseas visitors to Melbourne ensuring that our hotels, restaurants and famous retail precincts are busy throughout the year,” Mr Holding said.

From the moment I heard and saw Andrew Lloyd Webber’s highly acclaimed, long running and popular musical The Phantom of the Opera well over 20 years ago, I fell madly and obsessively in love with the musical. This spurred me to then hunt down pretty much all the musicals created, composed and written or co-written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who I sincerely believe is one of the most brilliant composers of the modern time.
Then it was time to be seated. After several minutes, the lights went out and then the intro began. As I listened to the orchestra start to play an instrumental array of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals and several screen projectors showed his many works of musical genius, my heart just soared with the music as the talented casts began singing The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. The entire show was split into to Two Acts and for 2 hours, I was immersed and in Andrew Lloyd Webber musical heaven, simply enjoying, relishing, humming and sometimes singing along to his music and songs. Every song sung brought happiness to my heart and none other than when the cast sang my favourite song, The Music of the Night from my favourite musical The Phantom of the Opera.
